Middle League : Mine Stars & BA on Top

Mine Stars and BA United have started the Ghana National Middle League on an impressive note. Both teams have won their initial two matches in a row and even though the Middle League is yet to get to the crunch period, it is increasingly beginning to look like the teams, which occupy the top two positions on the league table, would be singing premiership songs next season.

BA United, on Wednesday beat AC Olympiakos 2-1, while Mine Stars put three past Yeji Stars who only managed a consolation goal. In the other match Power FC won 2-0 over Mpohor Iron Fighters. With three matches to the end of the Middle League, next matches would be crucial to the aspirations of teams who are intent on playing in Ghana’s Premier Football league.

First and second placed teams will qualify automatically for the premier league while third team play will engage in a two-leg play off with Suhum Maxbees.

Below is the table after two matches.
