Mensah injury not too serious

Tests have confirmed that the injury to Ghana captain John Mensah is not too serious.

The defender suffered a thigh injury during Tuesday's 1-0 win over Botswana at the 2012 African Cup of Nations Group D match in Franceville.

Mensah underwent tests on Wednesday afternoon to determine the extent of the injury.

"We are happy that the injury is only a muscle contusion," Ghana team doctor Percy Annan told Ghanafa.org.

"We will be working on him (Mensah) to ensure that he is fit to play a part probably by the game against Guinea."

Ghana will play their next Group D match against Mali in Franceville on Saturday.
