Maxwell Konadu to provide remedy against Guinea

Captain Asamoah Gyan is backing the interim Black Stars technical team to devise a strategy to disarm the skillful Guineans in Wednesday’s 2015 AFCON clash.

The Black Stars got a real taste of the possessive prowess of the Syli National in the first leg of the 2015 AFCON qualifier on Saturday with skipper Ibrahima Traore pulling all the strings in midfield.

Ghana after an efficient first half display, faded off in the second half as the Guineans took full charge in the game that eventually ended in a draw – reducing the Black Stars to just chasing shadows in Casablanca.

But Asamoah Gyan believes vital lessons have been learnt and that the interim Black Stars technical team headed by Maxwell Konadu will come up with a strategy to ensure the aim of winning in Tamale is achieved.

“The Guineans are very skillful and they like possessing a lot,” Gyan told GHANAsoccernet.com. “I leave that side of planning the game to the technical team. Whatever plan they come up with, it is our job to abide and work with it.

“Our aim is to simply win the game, whether rain or shine, we must win the game.”

Ghana will be playing its first competitive match in Tamale against Guinea on Wednesday.

The Black Stars top Group E in the qualifiers and will strengthen this lead with a win over the Syli National.
