Ghanaian youngster Maxwell Ankomah has joined Cypriot second tier side Omonia Aradippou on a two year deal. The 23 year old inked a professional deal with the division two side after an outstanding performance with Paeek FC.

The versatile midfielder passed through the ranks of Accra based division two side Narita Football Club before joining the exodus train. A break through season with Paeek in the just ended 2016/17 season earned him a switch to Omonia Aradippou going into the new European season.

The Ghanaian youngster reportedly came close to joining Cypriot side Cihangir before settling for Omonia Aradippou going into the new season. Speaking to Richmond K Entse after sealing the move, Maxwell Ankomah could not hide his joy but pledged to work harder to seal top flight football.

“It is a new move and one that will allow me to showcase my talent. It is an amazing assignment ahead of me but that is why we are footballers.

“Hopefully we seal promotion at the end of the season and move away from the second tier. It is a platform to fight and be seen by the bigger clubs out there”, Maxwell told Richmond K. Entsie GFA.

The Ghanaian is expected to play a starting role in the coming season if his club is to move away from the division one league.
