Mathew Amoah tastes defeat in VV Baronie debut

Former Ghana striker Mathew Amoah marked his debut for Swedish amateur side VV Baronie in their 3-2 defeat to VC Vlissingen.

The 35-year-old impressed in his first competitive outing for the Swedish side lower side and came close to equalizing for the visitors.

The former Black Stars striker signed a six-month contract with the club last month to help them rise to the top tiers of the leagues in Holland.

Amoah's contract with the ambitious side will end in June which could pave the way for him for bigger offers.

The club in the lower leagues of Holland say the addition of the Ghana striker is a major boost for their ambitions.
