Masahudu thrilled with dream full Nations Cup debut

Masahudu Alhassan was thrilled with his African Cup of Nations full debut and hopes he gets another opportunity to play in the competition for Ghana.

The left-back made the starting team on Saturday in Ghana's 2-0 victory over Mali and put in an assured performance to last the entire game after coming on as a second half substitute in the opening match against Botswana.

In a post-game interview the youngster admitted he was a "bit surprised" to be handed a starting role by Goran Stevanovic in the crucial Group D clash.

“I was a little bit surprised and I knew it wouldn’t be easy for me. But my colleagues helped with lots of advice and I am very happy with everything,” Alhassan said minutes after kick off.

With a dream start in the bag, the defender who made his senior debut in an international friendly with Nigeria last October says he is yearning for more playing time.

“I hope I get to start the next game,” he added.
