Marseille Coach Hails Andre Ayew

Ghana international Andre Ayew has been in sensational form for reigning Ligue 1 champions Olympique Marseille. His winning goal against Toulouse last weekend shot the les Phonceen into fifth place in the standings, and coach Didier Deschamps has heaped praise on the 20-year-old.

“Andre Ayew is in top form at the moment,” Deschamps said on Marseille’s website on Tuesday.“He scores most of his goals with the head due to his aptitude in cutting the trajectories of flying balls.

"He has a good state of mind. He understands very quickly what he’s asked to do and corrects what needs to be corrected.

“Andre demonstrates strong desire and determination regardless of the opponent. He has great potential. He ought to continue like this, it will give him more confidence for the future.”

Ayew is the second son of three-time African Footballer of the Year Abedi Pele. Ayew was part of Ghana third-place team at the 2008 African Cup of Nations, which went on to be finalist at the 2010 edition of the tournament

He was also part of the Black Stars youthful outfit at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
