Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to monitor FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, as interest grows around the highly-rated Ghanaian youngster.
According to reports, the 20-year-old, who has been dubbed the “next Michael Essien” is also attracting attention from Brighton, who view him as a potential long-term successor to Carlos Baleba.
Yirenkyi joined Danish side Nordsjaelland in 2024 from Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy and quickly established himself as a key figure in the team.
In his debut season, he registered two goals and two assists in 17 appearances, showing glimpses of his all-round midfield quality.

He has taken his game to another level in the 2025/26 campaign, contributing two goals and seven assists in 18 league matches so far.
His composure on the ball, defensive intelligence, and ability to drive forward have made him one of the standout young performers in Denmark.
Capable of operating both as a midfielder and in defensive roles, Yirenkyi’s versatility has further enhanced his reputation.
His impressive club form earned him a call-up to Ghana’s Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers under Otto Addo, where he made four appearances.
