Malaysia Side finally secure services of Kim Grant

JOHOR BARU: Sarawak have completed their jigsaw of foreign signing with the arrival of the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) for English striker Kim Grant.

But Grant has to wait a little longer before to get into Super League action following the postponement of tomorrow's fixtures.

Sarawak were to play last year's Premier I champions Perak at the Sarawak Stadium. This was to be followed by a mid-week FA Cup second round match also against Perak at the same venue.

Grant fills the quota of four foreign players in the team. The other foreigners are strikers Robert Eshun (Ghana) and Fernando Manuel Co (Portugal) and defender Rodrigo Anderson Silva (Brazil).

ESHUN: The Ghanaian is one of the four foreign players in Sarawak this season. Sarawak's English coach Trevor Morgan is glad that they have finally secured the services of Grant.

“I am looking forward to working with Kim on my match strategies,” said Morgan from Kuching yesterday.

“With Kim in the team, I have more options in deciding on my first team. That means everyone has to work hard for his place.

“Things are made a lot trickier when you can only name three of the four foreigners for a match. I expect to see a keen battle for the three places.”

Morgan believes that Grant will help put Sarawak on the winning track.

The Crocs have yet to win a match after three outings. They lost to Sabah (1-3) and with Perlis (1-1) and Kedah (2-2).

Grant comes to Sarawak with the experience of having had stints with Charlton Athletic, Luton and Milwall in the English League before moving to Portugal to join Second Division side Imortal Desportivo.
