Maidens in tough FIFA World Cup Group

The Black Maidens of Ghana has been paired in a tough group for next year’s FIFA under 17 Women’s World Cup.

Ghana will play North Korea, Germany and Canada in Group B of the competition which takes place in Costa Rica between March and April 2014.

Ghana's will play North Korea in their opening game of the competition before they take on Germany and Canada in that order.

Africa is represented at the competition by Ghana, Zambia and Nigeria. The maidens won Bronze at the last edition held in Azerbaijan in 2012.

Italy and Zambia will play the opening match at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San José, before the hosts Costa Rica take on Venezuela on the same venue on 15 March.

Group A: Costa Rica, Venezuela, Italy, Zambia

Group B: Ghana, North Korea, Germany, Canada

Group C: New Zealand, Paraguay, Spain, Japan

Group D: Mexico, China PR, Colombia, Nigeria
