MVP Badu dedicates award to grieving Annan

Franceville, Gabon, Feb. 6, GNA - Ghana's combative midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu was rewarded for his hard work with the 'Most Valuable Player' Award of the quarter final win over Tunisia on Sunday.

Badu after receiving the award, said “I dedicate this award to Anthony Annan, who is mourning the passing away of his mum. He showed bravery today and he deserves this award”.

The player who described the award as special, was delighted at the team’s qualification to the last four of the competition, which piece Africa's best 16 together.

“I am proud of my Nation for our qualification into the next stage. It was a very difficult game but we fought hard to ensure we emerge winners today.”

Ghana plays Zambia at the semi final stage in Bata Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday.
