The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Sannie Daara has debunked reports that telecommunication giants MTN will end their marriage with the FA Cup after this year’s competition, insisting the reports are false.
The Vice Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee Mr. Kofi Poku was reported to have said their relationship with MTN will end after this year.
But Sannie Daara explains that Kofi Poku was quoted out of context and that the FA’s relationship with MTN is still solid.
“MTN are fully committed to the FA Cup. They are continuing with the sponsorship of the FA Cup and not ending as reported.
“The official who was said to have spoken on this has denied ever claiming that so it should be treated as another false information,” Sannie Daara told GHANAsoccernet.com
MTN has been title sponsors of the FA Cup competition for close to a decade now.
