Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency Lydia Seyram Alhassan has commended the Local Organising Committee of the 2020 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) games for a great job exhibited before and during the championship.
Hon. Lydia Alhassan speaking to the Press on Saturday applauded President for GUSA Dr Charles Dumfeh, Dr Bella Bitugu University of Ghana Sports Director, Patrons, Executives and Local Organizing Committee of GUSA for their remarkable and exceptional job in making sure the games ended successfully.
“I want to use this medium to congratulate all students for their great exploits, not forgetting the LOC and the rest of the stakeholders who have made this big event a very significant one, indeed the participants of this event are the heroes and heroines of this great nation and I must laud them.”
University of Cape Coast (UCC) emerged overall champions of the 26th edition of the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) games held at the University of Ghana campus after clinching twenty-eight (28) gold, twenty-three (23) silver and thirteen (13) bronze medals.
Followed closely was the University of Education, Winneba with fifteen (15) gold in second position and University for Development Studies in third with thirteen (13) gold medals.
The University of Ghana bagged twelve (12) gold medals while Ghana Institute of Journalism and the rest failed to win a single medal.
