French Club Lorient have reportedly rejected an £8 million bid from English side Burnley for Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris.
Burnley with barely 48 hours to the transfer deadline are being forced to purchase the player for £12million by the French outfit.
Waris has been a major target for the Premiership side despite the acquisition for New Zealand forward Chris Wood.
The 25-year-old who remains certain to leave the French Club had agreed personal terms with the English Premier League side.
A new bid could be submitted by Burnley in the next few hours in order to complete the move for the attacker.
The Ghanaian international scored 13 League goals for Lorient last season in the French Ligue I.
He shocking missed out in Ghana’s squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifier double-header against Congo.
