Lloyd Owusu Relishes Black Stars Come Back

Former Black Stars marksman Lloyd Owusu has revealed he would enjoy a call from Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac to justify his inclusion into the squad for nations cup in Angola and the world cup in South Africa.

Owusu who plays for Adelaide United in Australia says he was struck by swine flu and pneumonia when he arrived from England in June which to a bit of steam from him.’’ My aim is to help my team get a good finish at the end of the season and I think with hard work from myself and my colleagues we can do it’’. Of course i would enjoy a call from the coach of the Black Stars for trial exercise into the squad for the nations cup and the world cup'' he said.

Lloyd Owusu aged 33 , revealed there was pressure on Ghana during the 2006 world cup in Germany be it their maiden appearance yet the team became the only country from Africa to reach the last 16.

''With the experience from Germany and the world class stars like Appiah, Essien ,Muntari I see no reason the Black Stars can not improve upon their previous performance in the nations cup and the world cup''he revealed

He admitted Black Stars have a difficult groups to sort things out both in the nations cup in Angola and in South Africa he is confident with the right mix the team would jell in both tournament.

The former Sheffield Wednesday, Reading, Brentford, Yeovil, Cheltenham player added‘’ I been part of part of the Black Stars and know what they can do.Trust me, with a good blend of the old and the new, the team would go far in both tournaments. The supporters should be in South Africa in their numbers to cheer the team on and I can assure everybody Germany 2006 was just a tip of the cake when you compare what we would see in South Africa’’ he concluded.
