Libyan side Al Hilal given January 9 ultimatum to settle Francis Coffie debt or face demotion

FIFA has given Libyan club Al-Hilal up till 9 January, 2019 to pay all monies owed Ghanaian winger Francis Coffie, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report.

In the strongly-worded letter cited by GHANASoccernet.com, Al Hilal will suffer points deduction in the Libyan league, handed hefty fines and removed from the top-flight to the lower division.

Coffie signed for Al Hilal in July last year but was forced to terminate his contract.

It is being reported that his transfer fee was unpaid and he is also owed salaries.

Coffie began his career for Power FC and moved to Asante Kotoko in 2017 where he played for three years before leaving for Spanish second-tier side CD Leganés.

He also played for Medeama and AshantiGold and then landed in Sudan where was in the books of Al Merreikh and Al Watani.

The 29-year-old made his international debut in 2009 when he named in the local Black Stars squad which played Argentina in a friendly game.
