Liberty Professionals Silence Hearts Of Oak

Defending champions of the Ghana league, Accra Hearts of Oak, had their unbeaten home record broken when they fell at the hands of league contenders Liberty Professionals over the weekend.

The Under-20 World Cup winning coach Sellas Tetteh's charges fought hard to thwart the efforts of the former Confederations Cup champions’ hopes of topping the league.

Liberty once again employed the guile of their two Guinean imports, Capi Soumah and Sylla Foda, to finish off the Phobians 3-2.

Both players found the target against the champions and the duo have now shared seven goals in two successive matches.

“Let’s see what the rest of the games have for us. I’m happy we beat them. The first time it was four and this time it’s three. We are hoping to keep our focus and dreams alive,” a visibly elated Tetteh told the local press after the game.

Meanwhile, newcomers Aduana Stars have maintained their lead in the league table at four points after beating struggling Eleven Wise.

AshantiGold are in second spot but former champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko could not impress, sharing the spoils with All Stars.
