Latif Salifu eyes goal king award

Berekum Chelsea striker Latif Salifu has vowed to clinch the season’s top scorer gong.

The former Liberty Professionals diminutive attacker has netted twice in three appearances for the Blues.

The former Ghana Under-20 star underlined his big game temperament when he scored in the Berekum derby against Arsenals on Sunday.

Chelsea travel to the Tarkwa and Aboso Park to face Medeama in the top of the table clash on Wednesday and the 22-year-old is confident of registering his name on the scoresheet to increase his chances of winning the individual award.

“My target is that God will help us win the league. If I get any individual award like the goal king or best player, it will be fantastic,” Salifu is quoted by 90 Minutes newspaper “It is by the grace of God because all the players at Chelsea are very good. Anybody who is given the chance to play can score goals.

“I see it as a game that will be very difficult because they league is not easy and every team can play atured football.

“Medeama certainly are among the best teams in the league but we’ll go there with the same determination and hard work and hope to get the right result.”

Medeama recorded a 2-1 win over Chelsea at the same venue last season.
