Black Meteors head coach Ibrahim Tanko has attributed Asante Kotoko's game against Al Hilal Oumdurman which ended in a draw to lack of competitive matches on the side of Kotoko.

Al Hilal scored first through Waleed Bakhiet Hamid and Songne Yacouba got the equalizer for the Porcupine Warriors.

According to Tanko, the lack of competitive matches in the local scene affected Kotoko's performance in the game but he is still confident they can progress out of the group.

"The main problem Kotoko is encountering is lack of matches because of the dissolvent of the league", he told Light FM.

Tanko is very optimistic that Asante Kotoko will qualify out of the group as they need a win against Zesco United in the final group game on Sunday.

"All hope is not lost , I still believe they will qualify out of the group if they win against Zesco United. This is not a big task for them because they went away to defeat Cameroonian giants Cotton Sports", he concluded.
