Premier League week 21 Premier League week 21

Hello and welcome to our LIVE UPDATES of week 21 of the Premier League

Chelsea's opponents today are Southampton, who have seen a revival under new coach Ralph Hasenhuttl. The Austrian's high-pressing style helped the Saints spring a surprise victory over Arsenal and has lifted them out of the relegation zone - but will their west London rivals be more savvy?

Chelsea had a tricky end to 2018. After mishaps against Wolves and Leicester in December lost his team ground in the race for the top four, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will want his team to get back on track at the start of 2019.

On paper, this should be an easy win for Chelsea - the Blues have won their last seven matches against Southampton in all competitions and haven't lost consecutive home league games since November 2011 when they fell to Arsenal and Liverpool. Can Southampton stun Sarri's men?

Newcastle enter their 21st match of the campaign against Manchester United in 15th place, three points off the drop. Abdoulaye Doucoure’s late equaliser denied Newcastle the three points last time out, with a 1-1 draw against Watford extending Rafa Benitez’s winless streak to three matches – having scored only once in that time.

Three games without Jose Mourinho, three convincing victories for a Manchester United side who failed to win four of their final five matches before changing coaches. 12 goals in three games since, with only three conceded is a frightening record which would scare any defence, even Benitez’s resilient and organised back line.

At the Vitality Stadium, AFC Bournemouth welcome Watford whiles Huddersfield take on Burnley. Brighton will go in as the visitors at the London Stadium when they take on West Ham, Wolves will also host Crystal Palace at the Molineux Stadium.
