Ace Ghanaian sports broadcaster, Moses Foh Amoaning, has paid glowing tribute to Black Stars head coach, James Kwasi Appiah, describing his second coming as a ‘blessing’ to Ghana football.

Kwesi Appiah marked his return to the team after a two-year absence with a 5-0 thumping against the Waliaibex of Ethiopia at the Baba Yara Stadium to send the Black Stars to the top of Group F in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.

Prior to the much-anticipated encounter, many had lamented the absence of some key players, most notably Christian Atsu, Mubarak Wakaso and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, but Coach Appiah proved his critics wrong by humiliating the Ethiopians who were poised to cause an upset against the Black Stars.

While applauding the former Al Khartoum coach for his triumph, Mr. Foh Amoanaing said the foresight to include youngsters in the team to create competition was an indication of coach with a well thought out successive plan that would benefit the team in the future.

“Most of the players I saw were absolutely new players and I was well pleased that Kwesi could come up with such incredible players who could rub shoulders with the older generation.”

“I see him as a blessing to our football if he continues this way. His passionate approach to the game and his coordination with the technical team makes him the best man for Ghana at the moment considering the fiascos the team has encountered since their return from the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.”

Coach Kwesi Appiah used as many as three debutantes in his starting line-up against the East Africans and they all impressed much to the delight of many Ghanaians. Lumor Agbenyenu of Munich 1860, Thomas Agyepong of NAC Breda together with Raphael Dwamena and Ebenezer Ofori were all handed a debut call up into the national team.

He explained that” a team that strives on competition are very likely to produce good results” and therefore urged Kwesi Appiah to continue with his strategy as he prepares to transform the Black Stars into a formidable force in African football again.

Black Stars are expected to return to training on Monday, 19th June, 2017 ahead of a double friendly encounter with the United States and Mexico.
