Kwame Owusu-Asah Weeps For African Soccer

As Kotoko lose 0-2 in far away Algeria

Kumasi Asante Kotoko despite playing one of the best games this afternoon, painfully lost by 0-2 to nil to USM of Algiers. In a game that witnessed one of the most bizarre officiating, two players and, namely Joe Hendricks and Kwaku Essien, alongside German Coach Hans Dieter Schmidt were all given the red card by the Ivorian match officials, who many think were out to frustrate the porcupine Warriors.

To crown their shameful afternoon, the Ivorian referee showed seven Kotoko players the yellow card.

In a post-match interview with Space Fm, from Algiers, the affable Kwame Owusu-Ansah, and Kotoko?s PRO expressed his utmost disgust over the standard of officiating and hinted that the porcupine family would make a case before the appropriate bodies for redress. According to him, African soccer will never move if such match officials continue to hang around.

Mr.Owusu Ansah, however, charged supporters of the Club not to lose hope but continue to pray for the boys as ?we prepare for the second round?, he said.
