Kwadwo Asamoah will return to Black Stars when time is right - Father declares

Father of Ghana and Inter Milan player Kwadwo Asamoah has stressed that his son has not retired from international football and is ever ready to return when invited.

There has been much speculation about the future of the former Juventus player with the national senior team after an average performance at the AFCON 2019 tournament.

Asamoah was recently ommitted from new Black Stars Coach, Charles Akonnor’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Sudan.

With question marks hanging over his national team future, the player’s father has moved to clarify rumors about whether we’ve seen the last of his son in national team colours.

Emmanuel Kwasi Asamoah says his son is still keen on playing for Ghana and will always ready himself for national team assignments when invited.

“I’m not worried about my son’s exclusion from the Black Stars that’s how the game is. Some go and others replace them because there are up and coming kids too who must be given the chance to come and play for the Black Stars,” he told Ashh FM.

“When there is the chance for him to play he will come at the right time.

“Kwadwo Asamoah has not retired from the Black Stars he will come when the time is right and he is handed a call up.”
