Head of the Black Stars medical team, Dr Prince Pambo has admitted that the chances of Kudus Mohammed featuring at the 2026 FIFA World Cup remain uncertain following the midfielder's latest injury setback.

Speaking in an interview with Kafui Dey, Dr Pambo described the injury as "devastating" and revealed that Ghana's technical team may have to prepare for the tournament without one of its biggest stars.

"Kudus is a very significant member of world football. If the world is supposed to name 20 players they want to see at that stage, Mohammed would be one of them," Dr Pambo said.

The Black Stars medical chief disclosed that there has been no official communication from Kudus' club regarding recovery timelines, making it difficult to determine whether the player can return in time for the World Cup.

According to him, the club and the player are still considering treatment options, including surgical and non-surgical approaches, before a definitive recovery schedule can be established.

"As we speak now, there isn't any official communication from the club as to the timelines," he explained.
