Kpando celebrates workers with football gala competition

Mr. James Kofi Fonu Kpatakpa a proud indigene of Kpando and the immediate past Deputy National Youth Organizer of the N.D.C on 1st May 2019, May day or Workers day as it is popularly called, organised a football gala competition for the up and coming teams from all the communities in the municipality.

The event which is geared towards promoting sports and youth development in Kpando was graced by a large number of enthused youth from surrounding far and near communities.

In his speech, Mr. Fonu emphasized that sports is not only a source of entertainment but also a money making venture, therefore he is going to make everything possible to unearth young talents who will be able to play both locally and internationally.

He promised the various communities in the municipality astro turf pitches and the needed logistics that will motivate the youth to whip up their interest in sports.

He also emphasized that the competition is going to be an annual one, hence Mr. Afenyo Kennedy a PE teacher from Kpasec has been appointed as the chairman of the committee that is going to make this a possibility.

The winner of the competition was Diamond FC from Torkor, Vigilante FC from Tsakpe came second whereas Workers FC a keep fit club for workers and Lakeside FC from Gbefi came in 3rd and 4th place respectively.
