Koufie throws in the towel

Accra, Nov. 3. gna- Mr Ben Koufie, Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Monday notified the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of his intention to leave office at the end of the current football league season in December.

A statement he signed and released to the Ghana News Agency Sports said his decision not to seek re-nomination is irrevocable and that he would hand over to the in-coming chairman at the next congress of the association.

He expressed gratitude to the entire soccer fraternity for their immence support and co-operation.

" To those who thought it wise to criticize for almost everything I did during my term of office, I say to them, it is all part of the game and I still thank them for the spirit of the game."

The out-going chairman also rendered a sincere apology to those he might have offended . " I must state with all sincerity that my actions and utterances have been without malice and bitterness, the statement added.
