Asante Kotoko forward Obed Owusu is hopeful his side can re-claim their league title as the Ghana Premier League is set to kick start on 20 February, 2016.
The Porcupine Warriors last season failed to defend their league title after winning the top-flight championship on three consecutive seasons.
However, the dethroned league champions have done some strategic signings and their off-season campaign is yielding positive results as they have won SWAG Cup and the maiden edition of the GHALCA G-6.
With the pre-season performance of the Oseikrom boys, host of football pundits have touted them to re-claim their league title and the club’s influential striker has shared the same thought.
“For the people observing Kotoko from afar, it is not bad. But for us to win the league it will take determination and dedication from the players.
Kotoko is such a big club that you can’t simply play without winning. Winning trophies is the reason many players join this club,” Obed said.
“I’m hopeful we can reclaim our title. We had a bad season last year but we are very optimistic that we shall win many titles this season,” Obed Owusu told Ghanasoccernet.com.
Obed Owusu managed only three goals in 27 appearances for Asante Kotoko lasts season and hopes to better his performance when the new season starts.
