Kotoko to hire a foreign trainer

Executive Chairman of Asante Kotoko has revealed the club will soon appoint a foreign coach to take charge as the club revamps its technical team in few days.

Dr. KK Sarpong's statements on Kumasi-based Metro FM indicate the club’s technical team structure will have a technical director and a first team coach among other to complete the team.

“As for revamping of the technical team, it is going to happen. Didi is in control and we are now searching for extra hands to help him in the new direction we want to go. We want to have two UEFA and CAF License ‘A’ holders to strengthen our technical affairs so that when one is not available, the other would cover up,” he said.

Asked if he is not dictating to the club’s current trainer Mas-Ud ‘Didi’ Dramani who is a UEFA license 'A' holder and a technical directorate of the Ghana Football Association, the Kotoko chief quickly remarked, “Didi doesn’t have to decide the way the club should go.

“I have to decide the kind of technical structure my board and I want. I have a philosophy in management; the board will give directions and the employee would have to suit himself into it. My employee doesn’t decide the direction of my work, but rather work at my targets,” Dr. Sarpong said.

Dr. Sarpong’s remarks may be seen as a way of unsettling Coach Dramani to resign but the Kotoko chairman has refuted such notions.
