Asante Kotoko will head to Takoradi on Monday to continue pre-season training for the new Ghana Premier League campaign.

The dethroned league champions will spend one-week in the oil city to where they expect to get players in top shape.

Players will be engaged in lots of running, aerobics and weightlifting to boost endurance levels and body strength.

Head coach David Duncan explained his choice of the Western Regional capital for off-season training.

“We need a place we can get a track, beach environment conditions and a gym. So we will be back to the field after just a week,” Duncan told Kotoko Express.

Kotoko are billed to play league champions AshantiGold on 29 November for the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Cup.
