Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffo happy with progress in FA Cup

Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffo is delighted with their progression into the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors beat Wassaman 1-0 in the round of 16 to go through to the next stage of the competition.

Captain Amos Frimpong scored the only goal in the 36th minute from the spot after the Porcupine Warriors were awarded a penalty.

Midfielder Michael Akuffo was adjudged Man of The Match after an impressive performance in the middle of the pitch and he didn’t hide his joy after the win.

“It was a difficult game, we played according to instructions and I think the best side won so I am very very happy we won,” he said.

“What I will say about this game is that now every game of Kumasi Asante Kotoko is a big game and any team that is coming is determined so we were also determined,”

“The Coach told us about them and we did everything at training so we exhibited what the coach taught us and I think the best side won and we won so we are through to the quarter-finals,”

“We are looking forward in the Competition and I think this is the best opportunity to make our fans happy and I am very very happy we won.”

Kotoko are looking at winning the trophy they last won in 2014 when they beat Inter Allies in Accra.
