Kotoko management grateful to supporters

Kumasi, April 14, GNA - The Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko F/C, has commended its supporters for their unwavering loyalty, moral and spiritual support that had in recent times resulted in the classy performance of the Club.

Mr Benjamin Nti, Administrative and acting Public Relations Manager of the CLub, said since the assumption of office by the current management last year, it had enjoyed considerable cooperation, understanding and unflinching support from particularly the leadership of the supporters.

He told the GNA Sports in Kumasi that the overwhelming show of goodwill had helped the team to chalk significant victories and said management was optimistic that it can finish among the top four in the on-going Glo-Premier League, if they maintain their winning streak. The Porcupine Warriors currently occupy the second spot of the table on 37 points and are 13 points adrift of League leaders Chelsea who are on 50 points.

Mr Nti said as part of efforts to revamp the team, management was in talks with their Africa Sports counterparts in Cote D'Ivoire to sign on three of their players ahead of next year's local and international competitions.

The services of the players, he said, would be needed to strengthen the attack, midfield and defense of the team. The Administrative Manager said they were so far satisfied with the level of professionalism of the players.

He said goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama, the Burkinabe import, was still with the Club and explained that his working permit has now been renewed to enable him to feature regularly for the Club. Mr Nti said management was determined to restore to Kotoko to its once all-conquering and fearsome form and therefore urged stakeholders to rally solidly behind the team to achieve its goals.
