Kotoko have benefited from ‘dubious’ penalty decisions – Alhaji Grusah

Bankroller of Division 1 side, Alhaji Grusah Kumasi King Faisal, has asked Asante Kotoko fans and management to stop complaining about the penalty that was awarded Hearts of Oak in the super clash last Sunday.

Kotoko lost to Hearts of Oak in the Super Clash by 1-0, after Vincent Atinga converted what was regarded by many-a-fan as a controversial penalty in favour of Hearts.

Samuel Sukah has been at the centre of a social media backlash following his questionable penalty decision to gift Hearts the winner.

However, according to Alhaji Grusah, Asante Kotoko have also benefited from worse referee decisions this season, so they should stop blaming the referee for their loss and concentrate on their remaining matches.

“Referees are human so they can also make mistakes in a game. This penalty awarded is nothing new to the Ghanaian game.

“Is the penalty the reason why many people are complaining? Kotoko have also benefited from dubious penalty decisions to win their matches in the league, so we should all stop talking too much,” Grusah told Kumasi-based Boss Fm.
