A goal apiece in either half ensured that champions Asante Kotoko picked their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over B.A. United in Sunyani on Sunday.
Jordan Opoku and Ahmed Toure scored to end Kotoko's struggles into the start of the Premier League.
Kotoko, whose best result had been a draw in their match-day-2 fixture in midweek opened the scoring at the Coronation Park 16 minutes into the game through Opoku.
The goal silenced the crowd dominated by supporters of B.A. United as Didi Dramani's side managed to hold onto the slim lead into recess.
Kotoko returned from the break and three minutes into the restart, they doubled their advantage, this time through striker Toure.
