Kotoko draw blanks against Right to Dream in friendly

League leaders Asante Kotoko began their first of a series of friendlies in their two-week camping away from Kumasi ahead of the start of the 2014 CAF Champions League and the 2nd round of the GPL with a 0-0 draw against Right to Dream Academy on Thursday.

The test match on the Akosombo-based Academy’s artificial turf saw the porcupine warriors field a balanced starting XI for the first half before following up with wholesale changes in the second.

Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani initially fielded goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye in post with Bobie Ansah, Eric Donkor, Ohene Brenya and SmallBoy Korbah making up the defence. Godfred Asante, Issah Yakubu, Prince Baffoe, Joseph Ochaya and Larbi Koomson shored up the midfield while Bashiru Osman led the attack.

Kotoko continue their training on Friday and are billed to play next Crystal Palace at the Akotex Park on Sunday. The team will end their camping by January 28 and return to Kumasi for a four-team international tournament involving rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and Nigerian duo Eyimba FC and Enugu Rangers.

Kotoko subs: Soulama/Joseph Addo, Bobie/Amos Frimpong, Eric Donkor/Ben Adama, Larbi/Rahim Ayew, Bashiru Osman/Isaac Boakye, Godfred Asante/Aminu Mohammed, Joseph Ochaya/Abdul Aziz Yusif
