Kotoko denies transfer rumours

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has debunked reports in a section of the media that the club has put seven players on transfer.

According to the reports, Kotoko has placed top players including defender Richard Osei Agyeman, Strikers Obed Owusu, Bernett Ofori, Seidu Bancy, Burkinabe import Halipha Sedogo and midfielder Kojo Poku on transfer but the Reds have come out to deny, describing them as false and speculative.

Communications Manager of the club, Kwaku Ahenkorah confirmed to the Times Sports that the aforementioned players are still with the club and none of them had left or been put on transfer as it was reported.

“That report is not true. We have come out to debunk the rumours, but I still don’t know why it is still circulating. Our players are on holidays, and we will be expecting all the players back when we begin camping” he said.

The Porcupine Warriors finished fifth in the just ended Ghana Premier League (GPL) after a difficult season and are expecting to return to the new season with a very good side to push their agenda of winning the next season’s league.

Mr. Ahenkorah confirmed the club’s pre-season camping which was supposed to begin tomorrow has been postponed.

The Porcupine Warriors were scheduled to begin their pre-season training at their Adako Jachie training grounds ahead of the impending G6 competition organised by the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA).

The exercise will begin on Friday on October 21, 2016.
