Kotoko chief backs under-fire coach Dramani

Asante Kotoko Executive Chairman Dr. KK Sarpong has backed under-fire coach Mas-Ud Dramani to revive the club.

Dramani has come under-intense pressure following Kotoko’s exit from the CAF Champions League last Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw at home but bundled out on the away-goals rule.

Some of the Kotoko fans who were left fuming after the final whistle, held the team hostage at the Baba Yara Stadium and demanded the head of the coach.

But management is not prepared to fire the 2012 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup bronze medal winning coach.

“We are in talks with the coach on how to improve performance and win the two trophies we are still in contention for,” Dr Sarpong said.

“He has a duty to perform so let’s support and encourage him and the players to put smiles back on our faces.

“It is at the end of the season when we will have a clear idea on how to move forward," he added.

Kotoko will bounce back this afternoon when they play lower division side Rainbow FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in the MTN Ghana FA Cup round of 16 tie.
