Captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Amos Frimpong says the new signings by the club will help turn the tides, following their torrid start to the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors have struggled after 12 games in the league, losing five times already and are tenth on the Zylofon Cash Premier League table.

Meanwhile, with the league on a two-week break and the opening of the transfer window. The club has acquired a couple of new signings including Samuel Frimpong and Emmanuel Agyeman Badu.

Captain Amos is confident the new signings will have a positive effect on the club ahead of the return of the top flight.

"I believe my new mates can help Kotoko to get to the respectable position we yearn for. It doesn't matter if they are from division one. Some players need such opportunities to realise their full potential," he told Happy FM's Anopa Bosuo Sports.

Other signings are Richard Senanu, Samuel Appiah Kubi, Alhaji Issahku and Ibrahim Osman.

Amos Frimpong adds the club's performance in the first round was poor but believes the second round will see better displays from the Reds.

"Our performance in the first round wasn't the best but I am positive we will be much better in the second round," he told Happy FM. "I trust and believe in my mates that we will come back stronger to help us in the title race," he added.

Kotoko will face Elmina Sharks on Wednesday in the return of the Zylofon Cash Premier League and Frimpong hopes that will be the start of a redemption for the club.

"I believe our current commitment and training in Mampong will earn us victory against Elmina Sharks on Wednesday. Supporters should not forsake the club. They should continue praying for us to come back stronger in the second round," he concluded.
