Kotoko Slapped With Hefty Fine

Asante Kotoko have been ordered to pay a cumulative 36,500 Ghana cedi fine by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

The coach of the Premier League giants, Bogdan Korack, has also been hit with a three-game ban in the verdict released on Wednesday.

The fine breakdown is as follows:

Club 20,000 Ghana cedis

Playing body (18) 9,000 (500 per player) Ghana cedis

Head coach 1,500 Ghana cedis

Other members of technical team (6) 6,000 Ghana cedis (1ooo each)

Total 36,500 Ghana cedis

The Kumasi-based club is being punished for their President’s Cup medal and trophy presentation snub on July 1.

The boycott was in protest of referee Awal Mohammed who ordered twice, a retake of penalty kicks of Chelsea in the shootouts after both team had played out an exciting 2-2 draw in regulation time.

Chelsea eventually won the annual one-off game by 6-5 on penalties.
