Kotoko In Financial Crisis

........Club's Cheques Bounce.
Cash strapped Asante Kotoko after failing to account for 50 million cedis are now grappling with raising 145 mllion cedis to settle their indebtedness to Obuasi Goldfields over the transfer of Nana Arhin-Duah and Isaac Boakye.

Payment for the transfer made during former Chief Executive Herbert Mensah?s tenure of office did not go through.

A cheque issued by the former Kotoko capo bounced last Tuesday.

Obuasi Goldfields who took legal action against Kotoko to have their monies paid to them last year acceded to requests from Otumfuo Osei Tutu, the Life Patron of Kotoko to withdraw the case from court.

However, the 145 million cedis cheque, which had been lodged with the FA, could not be cashed because the accounts of Kotoko was empty.

Goldfields is now looking for an avenue to retrieve the amount owed them.
