Kofi Jantuah Decalres War On Saturday

Accra, (Greater Accra) 30 Oct.,

Kofi Jantuah, Former national welterweight champion today declared "war" against Australian Stefan Scriggins in their fight for the vacant Commonwealth welterweight title on Saturday, November one, at the Accra Sports Stadium. "This fight is a big challenge to me to prove to my teeming fans and the entire nation that I am really the pride of Ashanti", he said. Jantuah made the declaration at a press conference in Accra to introduce the two boxers and the others on the "triple-do boxing night show" to the boxing public. Lined-up for the fight, being organised by Metro TV, are three championship bouts and three undercards. The other two championship bouts are between Ghana's Steve Dotse and Bamba Amara (Cote D'ivore) for the vacant African Bantamweight crown and Ghana's James Armah (Bukom fire) versus Sia Augustine (Cote D'ivoire) for the Africa Featherweight title. Jantuah who had predicted an eighth round knockout, called on Ghanaians to troop to the stadium to cheer him to victory. The Australian said he has not come all the way from his country just to lose to Jantuah "He (Jantuah) should be carefull lest the fight will not travel far", the soft-spoken Scriggins said.
