Kingson still number-one -Eddie Ansah

Richard Kingson is still Ghana's undisputed number-one goalkeeper according to Black Stars goalkeeper's trainer Edward Ansah.

Kingson's position has come under threat recently following a number of high profile errors, as well as communication from Fifa that Norway-based Adam Larsen Kwarasey is eligible to play for Ghana.

Kwarasey can play for the Black Stars as he did not represent the Norwegians in a competitive game.

Ansah, himself a former Ghana international, says Kwarasey could get his chance for the friendly against Nigeria in London but insist it does not affect Kingson's current position in the team.

“Barring any injuries, we will try him in our next match but that doesn’t take anything away from Richard [Kingson]. He’s still our number-one," he tells JoySports.

“We have to see him training and what he’s capable of doing and if, God willing, he’s ready for our next game against Nigeria, I think we will give him a chance to prove himself,” he adds.

“He is coming new into Ghana football. He might have one or two problems but that wouldn’t be that serious. He needs to adjust and work on the other problems.”
