Kingson Voted Swedish Best

English Premiership-bound Ghanaian international goalkeeper, Richard 'Oleley' Kingson, has been voted by the Swedish sporting press and football officials as the Best goalkeeper in the Swedish Allseven League after seven rounds of league games played.

Kingson, who has being on the rising note after exhibiting what was termed by many soccer fans as 'a magnificent outing' at the last Fifa World Cup in Germany, took over of the number spot of his Swedish side, Hammarby IF when he joined them last March.

Speaking in a telephone interview from his Swedish based this morning after his side's 3-1 defeat over Goteborg IFK, the former Galatasaray goalie expressed his delight about the award, something he claimed he rightly deserve judging from his performance in the on-going Swedish League.

The Ghanaian goalie, who was named Farouk Gursoy during his almost decade stay in Turkey is now referred to as KING RICHARD or MR MAGIC HANDS by his Swedish fans.

According to Kingson, who also won the Hammarby Best Player Award last month, he will dedicate the award to fans of Hammarby due to the reception and support he has being receiving from them since his arrival at the club.

He said "the fans have being very lovely and supportive since my arrival here and it is appropriate I dedicate my two awards to them in appreciation of their immense love and support for me. They have really made Sweden my second home and I will definitely miss them when I leave".

Currently the Ghanaian goalie appears to be Hammarby’s player with the highest point's build-up on the club's performance calendar as he has so far clocked 77 points.

Touching on the death of former Black Starlets and Black Stars defender, Patrick Allottey, who was Kingson’s team mate at Ghanaian Premier League side Great Olympics, the goalie, expressed his condolence to the bereaved family claiming the defender will be greatly missed by most Olympics fans as well as the Ghanaian soccer fraternity.

Kingson, who is the senior brother of Scottish side Hearts midfielder Laryea Kingson, was also voted by Fifa as the third Best Goalie after the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
