King Faisal would win 2003 league-Grunsah

Alhaji Abdul Karim Grunsah, bankroller and owner of King Faisal Football club, has said the 2003 league cup is the target of his club.

In a chat with GNA Sports, Alhaji Grunsah said his club is going to rely on the good marketing skill of his new partner Mr. Herbert Mensah (pictured) Former chief executive of Kumasi Asante Kotoko "coupled with my sound administrative skill to make King Faisal a force to reckon with".

He said "I am confident that Mr. Mensah would transform the club for me because he had given me a cause to trust him even when he was in the opponents camp".

According to Alhaji Grunsah, he and Mensah has put in some structures to ensure that the club strives in the league adding "I would disclose all our plans before the commencement of the league".

He was of the view that with the pre-season training of his club, currently underway in Accra, indications are that the team would be ready to battle all big teams in the league..

On other issues, the chairman expressed dissatisfaction about the way some clubs are going about their recruitment exercise in their quest to beef up their teams for the league.

He particularly said he was displeased about the attitude of the new Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their dealing with one of his players-- Yussif Chibsah.

"If any club chooses to dishonour me by doing whatever pleases it, I would also, dishonour them in return and that is why I expect the IMC to do the right thing as they would want to be done to them," he added.

He called on the new (IMC) of Kotoko to come forward for negotiation for the release of the player instead of resorting to other means.
