Controversial Spain-based midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng says the Ghana FA concocted claims of indiscipline against him at the 2014 World Cup leading to his indefinite suspension from the Black Stars.

The German-born has not played for the national team since the tournament in Brazil in the wake of the suspension.

However calls for his return to the national team has been growing as Ghana faces a crucial World Cup qualifier against Egypt this month.

The 29-year-old’s spectacular form for Las Palmas has sparked calls for his return to the Black Stars despite being sacked in disgrace.

Boateng was kicked out of Ghana's 2014 World Cup team in Brazil for "vulgar verbal insults targeted at coach Kwesi Appiah", the Ghana FA said.

The indefinite ban was slapped on Boateng by the GFA for ‘showing no remorse’ of his action of clashing with the coach infront of the entire squad.

Despite the widespread claims by the GFA, Boateng says the indiscipline claims against him were concocted.

“There were people who had a problem with me,” Boateng said.

“I don’t know for what reason. They had their reason but they made them up. I think it was not the right decision that they kicked me out.

The controversial player's international career with Ghana has been firmly tied with the World Cup and refusal to play at the Africa Cup of Nations or its qualifiers. The GFA's insistence him playing at the AFCON led one retirement and a return already.

Boateng became a Ghana international in 2010 in time for the 2010 World Cup before going on to impress in South Africa after switching nationality from Germany where he was snubbed.

But he quit a year after the tournament, claiming his body could not combine the demand of club and international football.

He was back in the side for the final world cup qualifying play-off against Egypt before making the squad that represented Ghana in Brazil.
