Kevin-Prince Boateng and wife finally return to Italy

Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng and wife Melissa Satta have returned to Italy as there is a significant increase in people recovering from the novel coronavirus.

Satta and his son Maddox left Italy some weeks ago to visit her husband, who had signed a loan deal with Besiktas, but ended up staying beyond her scheduled time.

The Boateng family managed to enjoy the city of Istanbul as tourists for only a few days, that is, before the coronavirus emergency started in Turkey.

Melissa announced on her Instagram page that she and her family have returned to their home in Milan.

In the video Melissa joked with her partner as a gardener: "Back in Milan we start with a little gardening!, wrote the stunning model.

“My life is in Milan, it is not easy here. I explained the situation to my son. It is good that even the little ones know the truth."

The latest figures from the Italian Government are increasingly reassuring, with another drop in deaths (552), new cases (1,195), intensive care requirements and a significant increase in people recovering.

Experts have said Italy reached the peak of the pandemic last week and, after a plateau where the figures were stable, they have now begun a definite downward trajectory.

Today’s press conference confirmed 552 deaths over the last 24 hours, compared to 604 on Tuesday, taking the total number to 17,669.

The best news comes from the hospitals, where another 99 intensive care beds were freed up by people being discharged from those high-dependency wards.

A further 233 were released from hospital entirely and another 2,099 were declared free of the illness, so in total 26,491 patients have made a full recovery.

There are still 63,084 people in self-isolation with symptoms who do not require hospital care.

The opening of a new laboratory has also allowed Italy to ramp up the testing, with 51,680 tests performed over the last 24 hours alone.

Since the crisis began just over a month ago, 807,125 tests have been taken, with 139,422 of those positive.

Italy are now preparing to move towards phase 2 of the pandemic, which is an easing on travel restrictions.
