Kenpong bails out ‘hungry’ Journalists after Stars win

Business mogul and Asante Kotoko financier Kennedy Agyapong came to the rescue of some ‘hungry’ Ghanaian Journalists during the World Cup play-off against Egypt on Tuesday.

The sports Journalists who had gone to the Golden Tulip Hotel, where the Black Stars were lodged assumed the food served them was expected to be paid by headline sponsor of the team, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

But that was not the case as they were asked to pay for the food eaten at the hotel in a move which embarrassed the affected Journalists.

It took the timely intervention of Mr. Agyapong popularly called ‘Kenpong’ who came to their rescue and paid the bill to save them from further embarrassment.

The culture of invading national team camp by some Journalists in Ghana has become rampant with the latest situation expected to serve as a deterrent to them.

The Black Stars won the game handsomely by 6-1 at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.
