Kenichi Yatsuhashi to check use of social media

Kenichi Yatsuhashi says he will reassess his use of social media after the issue came up at his inaugural press conference about his activeness on the new media.

The Japanese is active on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and provides regular details on everything from experiences on flights, training, his meals and generally to stay in touch with fans.

But he has already experienced the potential problems it could cause when his tweet on Friday morning about his ‘koko’ – (a Ghanaian porridge) breakfast triggered some intriguing response including one that asked “are you a coach or a chef?.

Mind you Hearts of Oak is a football club, not a kitchen.” Another said “Are you here to coach or eat? You are always tweeting about food.”

Asked if his use of those platforms will be an issue, Yatsuhashi insisted it will not. He said he has used the various mediums to mostly stay in touch with ex-players and insist he won’t be posting any material he is not required as the club boss.

He said: “When I left United States in 2011, a lot of the former players I coached wanted to keep in touch with me and I can make a phone call everyday but it became a great tool for me stay in touch with my former players so that’s the reason why I have been posting a lot of things on social media especially after I left United States in 2011”.

"Now my position has changed. There are a lot of people watching me and accessing me in completely different ways. I was not told anything about social media but I already know what to do with it.

I don’t think I am sharing anything that I shouldn’t share publicly. Everything that I share now with the media people is something that I will share on social media.”
