Active footballers would shy away from commenting on ‘juju’ in football. The practice dates back to Adam and Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed (Polo) who played for both the Ghana National Team and Accra Hearts of Oak in the 70’s reveals he suffered injuries as a result of the hex other players placed on him through ‘juju’.

In an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM, Mohammed ‘Polo’ popularly known as the "Dribbling Magician" revealed that as a footballer, he had his own source of protection and that was his faith in Allah.

He noted that as a player, he was able to stand against the spiritual forces that other players consulted to bring his blossom career to an abrupt end because he prayed and did the things the Quran directed him to do.

As a staunch Muslim, he reveals he always prayed five times in a day and did his best to add the optional ones which other Muslims refused to perform.

This he said was to ensure Allah protected him from the spirituals forces that were sent on the field to attack him.
