Jordan faces nervous wait

Jordan Ayew faces a nervous wait to discover if Olympic Marseille will release him for the African Youth Championships in Johannesburg.

The youngest son of Ghanaian legend Abedi Pele is keen to play a part in the championships, but is facing stern opposition from the French club, who need all hands on deck as they bid for a successful defense of the League title they won last season.

But as his teammates gather in Naivasha in Kenya, Ayew has been told he will only discover his fate on Monday when Marseille will make a final decision whether to let him to travel for the tournament.

Ghanaian officials will be hoping they can secure the release of Ayew after the Italy-based duo of Daniel Kofi Agyei and afriyie Acquah were both denied the opportunity to travel for the tournament.
