Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has hinted Jordan Ayew could make his debut appearance for the club in their Sunday's clash against Watford.

Ayew, 26, joined the Eagles on a season-long loan from Swansea City on transfer deadline day.

The Ghana forward is yet to feature for the side in the ongoing campaign, having been left out of the match against Fulham and only watching Monday's matchday two clash with Liverpool from the bench.

“I’ve been more than happy with our first two performances [of the players] against Fulham and Liverpool," Hodgson said on Friday.

"I think the team that I chose played well. But [new signings] Max [Meyer], [Cheikhou] Kouyate and Jordan Ayew have all been very, very impressive in training.

"They can feel themselves a little bit unlucky that the ones that I’ve chosen have played well enough to keep them out of the team.

"But I wouldn’t hesitate to put any of those into the team, and the same applied to Vicente Guaita.”

He made 36 topflight appearances last term, involving 33 starts, and scored seven times for Swansea.
